Prey Review The Predator Movie We Deserve
Hulu's Prey is a 100% prequel to the 1987 classic Predator, not a prequel. Over the years, directors have tried to recreate the magic of the original film without success. Predator is the first movie since the original that feels completely like a Predator movie and covers the essence of the movie: the hunt and the hunted. Set 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation, Predator focuses on a group of native hunters who join the Naru (Amber Midlander) in the Great Plains. Their camp is in danger, so Naru and the other hunters set out to hunt down the threat, only to discover that a hunter known as Yautja is hunting them. Naru and his team are now being chased and must fight. The movie tells an incredibly simple story, which is exactly what you want for a Predator movie. Previous installments were too steeped in myth and legend or tried to create a more terrifying Yautja hybrid, but this franchise is all about characters who are hunted by incredibly powerful and hidden powers.
