The Pittsburgh Police Department is investigating a tragic Easter Sunday mass shooting in the North Side neighborhood of East Allegheny.
Police say 10 people were shot dead, two killed and five others injured, including five with broken bones, as they tried to flee the scene.

The family, who were stopped at Airbnb as part of a mass shooting in Pittsburgh, left an hour before the shooting.
Pittsburgh Police said they received multiple shotspotter alerts at 800 Swissman Street shortly after 12:30 p.m.
When police arrived in the area, more shots were fired and several young men fled on foot and were evicted from the Airbnb property on Swissman Street and Madison Avenue.
According to police, Airbnb threw a large party attended by 200 people. According to the police, many of the participants were minors.

Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said he believes several gunmen were involved in a mass shooting at an Airbnb in the North Side.
At a news conference, Chief Schubert said a variety of bullet casings were found at the scene, leading police to believe several people had been shot.
The search for the perpetrator continues.

Airbnb issued a statement following a mass shooting at a rental property in Pittsburgh's North Side.

In an email to Channel 11, Airbnb made the following statement:
“We share the outrage of the people of Pittsburgh at this appalling gun violence. Our hearts go out to all victims, including family members, victims and neighbors.
Airbnb strictly prohibits the parties, and we condemn the behavior allegedly at the root of this criminal gun violence. A guest in the booking has been banned from Airbnb for life and we will consider all valid options to bring that person to justice.
We have contacted the Pittsburgh Police Department and the Mayor of the Gainey team to assist in their investigation and we hope those responsible for this bloodshed will be found soon.
Airbnb told Channel 11 that it was an unauthorized party being held without the host's knowledge or consent.
The landlord had clear rules that said, "Parties are not allowed, any proof of attendance will be subject to a $500 fee." And "comply with the curfew from 10 p.m. to 7 p.m.," reports Airbnb.
Airbnb further states that users must be at least 18 years old to have an account.
"I mean it was a quick shot. It wasn't just a small fire. "It was kind of] 'Boo, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow,'" said Leonard Verdett, who was viewing the footage at 1:30 p.m. from his home across the street.
"We looked out the window and people ran to the door and screamed, screamed, cried," he said.
According to the police, 10 youths were shot dead and two killed. Five others were injured while trying to escape.

"You're on the second floor and you have a decision to make. 'I'm going to jump out the second floor window and break the glass and the stuff.' Who lives on the street and captures the tragedy from the security cameras of his home.
Video shows the crowd dispersing as the shooting began. One victim even used Willston's car as a prop.
"It looked like someone ran in that direction and then leaned against the back of our car and there was blood everywhere," he said.
Vardeta owned a bar across the street from her home, both Airbnb and still behind the bar.
He saw 200 young men queuing for rent a few hours before the shooting.
"The line keeps going and I was like, 'I don't know how they're going to get all these people out of there,'" he said.
Willston said the home has been Airbnb for about two years.
"It was never destructive, a problem or anything," he said. - There was no madness or anything like that.
