In June, city officials considered plans to demolish Edgewater Estate to close the December 2020 vote by Stevens Point City Council. The last residents of the facility have left the building this spring, and demolition is expected to take place later this summer or early.

The proposed proposal is submitted to the City Commission for Heritage Protection on June 1, and the plenum is expected to approve the first demolition plan by the end of the month.
