Team PEOPLE confirmed on Tuesday that an NBA fan received a lifetime ban from the Chase Center in San Francisco for imitating a Golden State Warriors player during the NBA Finals.
The incident happened Monday afternoon, shortly before the Warriors faced the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
The PEOPLE team stated, "An individual was falsely impersonating a Warriors player in an intentional attempt to gain access to unauthorized areas of the Chase Center."
They added, "These actions resulted in a lifetime ban from both the Chase Center and the Kaiser Permanente Arena."
In a series of tweets on Monday, YouTuber Dawson Gurley said he stopped after walking through the safe before the match and grabbing the penalty ball.
The scammer who claims to have been Warriors star Klay Thompson since 2017 maintains a security that allowed him to sue for looking like the 32-year-old ex-NBA champion.

He explained on Twitter: "Blocked because I went through 5 layers of guards (who willingly let me through security without asking for ID) and shot in court for 10 minutes."
Gurley added: “Technically, I didn’t interfere. I spoke to security, went through the metal detectors, and went straight into the building. They welcomed me with open arms."
Additionally, Gurley posted a photo of an alleged letter he received from the organization explaining his lifetime ban.
