AJ Griffin grew up playing basketball for Archbishop Stepinak on the White Plains in Osing, NY, New York, and played for the New York PSA Cardinals Nike.

Now, after his only season with Duke, New York Nixx, the 6-foot-6 short front, knows he will vote for NBA Draft 11 on Thursday.

"The dream of playing for Kiki will come true," Griffin said on Monday.

"I really grew up here and I thought it would be a good time in New York. I know the drama and I know a lot of actors. It's really, really, really good. I don't know what those feelings are. Experience ..."

Although he broke his knee earlier in the season, Griffin scored an average of 10.4 points and 3.9 rebounds last season under manager Mike Kerzzevsky.

"For us, the shot must play a role," said Duke's assistant Chris Carwell. "So we told him, 'Be the best beat in the country.'

“If you take a kid who knows how to throw, he can throw the ball to the ground and shoot. I don't know if his body will ever help his body. He has excellent physics and is physically the same age as Jimmy Butler. So in front of him is his best basketball.

AJ's father, Adrian Griffin, has played at Seton Hall, played in the league for ten years and is now an assistant to the Toronto Raptors. Adrian was in the draft lottery with AJ in Chicago last month.

AJ's mother Audrey was a track star at Seton Hall. His brother Alan played in Illinois and Syracuse and his sister Aubrey played for UConn Women's Power Station.

"I always say that, I always say take a professional," said Carwell. "This is in the genes, man, take the professional boy. If your father is in the NBA and we sign that boy, take him. Seth Curry, Dunleavy, These guys are hardworking, low maintenance, have a high IQ in basketball and did it all by dropping out of high school a year and a half. He has a lot of time and he has the best basketball in front of him.

AJ knows the Knicks' rulers and players very well.

Prior to the draft, Nixx President Leon Rose, GM Scott Perry and Vice President William Wesley stood to greet him and his father along the way.

Griffin met Nix winger RJBarrett, who went on a one-on-one with Duke three years ago before becoming No. 3 overall.

"I've got Arjen once or twice," said Griffin. "We talked a little bit. They always relate to basketball. It's more of a friendship."

He added: “I think we can be good together when I see him play and play. I know he likes to cool down and go uphill and get views. We are Duke. ” And we met Duke. I think it's great to play with him and we really support each other.

In addition to Nix, Griffin worked for San Antonio, New Orleans, Portland, and Indiana. Cunches are the latest.

"It was great, it was a great workout, my last one," he said. "It was a good practice."

Griffin was one of five Duke players included in this year's draft when he tried to take on Kentucky with a host of players selected in the first round of the school (2010).

"Going through this process with my teammates was definitely a rare and exciting experience," he said. "Normally you don't put four other players in one night. It's fun not only for me but also for my teammates. "Where to go. You go."
